  • Kramers-Kronig and Automatic CV Baseline Available in New Gamry Software
    posted on March 25, 2008 - 07:54:24 am

Gamry has released Version 5.30 of their electrochemical software. Version 5.30 includes Kramers-Kronig Transform and element substraction for EIS. It also adds automatic baseline subtraction for cyclic voltammetry and linear sweep voltammetry. Version 5.30 is compatible with 32-bit Windows Vista.

Version 5.30 can be downloaded free by licensed Gamry users.

  • Gamry Adds Three New Pulse Techniques to PHE200 Physical Electrochemistry Software
    posted on March 25, 2008 - 07:54:20 am

The behavior of the current from a sample that is undergoing a voltage pulse can reveal a great deal about the sample.  Gamry's PHE200 Physical Electrochemistry Software took a step up with the release of Version 5.21, in which three pulse techniques were added.  "Repeating Chronoamperometry" measures the current during a series of squave wave voltage pulses.  "Repeating Chronopotentiometry" measures the voltage during a series of square wave current pulses.  "Multiple Step Potentiostatic" measures the current during a series of up to 48 voltage steps.  The minimum time between current/voltage measurement is 33 microseconds.

The measurement capability of these techniques enhances the appeal of the PHE200 for sensor developers, pulse plating researchers, and others.

The price of the PHE200 remains the same and current Gamry users can download Version 5.21 from the Gamry website at no charge.

  • Gamry Adds THE Technique to the Standard Corrosion Software
    posted on March 25, 2008 - 07:54:15 am

The THE Repassivation Potential Technique is used to measure the crevice corrosion characteristics of a metal sample.  Crevice corrosion is a form a localized corrosion, as is pitting.  Crevice corrosion is a difficult phenomenon to characterize because of the many variable involved.  The THE Technique is currently undergoing a round-robin in ASTM G01.

The THE Technique is available in Version 5.21 of Gamry Software, available for free download by licensed Gamry users.  The price of the DC105 will remain unchanged.
