your personal web XML/RSS news reader

  • FeedReader Introduction
    posted on June 16, 2004 - 07:52:28 pm

This website allows you to read XML/RSS feeds through your regular web browser. Just copy and paste your favorite RSS address in the XML bar above and press Go, or select one from the links on the left. Nothing to install and maintain.

  • Member Name Customization
    posted on June 17, 2004 - 09:52:28 am

To keep track of your recently accessed feeds, please enter a member name in the appropriate box towards the left top corner. Unlike feedreaders that you install on your local computer, this web-based feedreader can be accessed from any computer in the world and still will give you access to your favorite feeds. This reduces the amount of feed maintenance and leads to a more consistent RSS reading experience. More advanced personalization, including password protection, and customization features are to be added soon.

  • What is RSS anyway?
    posted on June 17, 2004 - 06:52:28 pm

RSS (Really Simple Syndication) is a format for distributing and aggregating Web content (such as news headlines and some 'blogs'). RSS is a dedicated subset of XML (eXtended Markup Language), intended to make it easy to share data and information. There are several versions of RSS, but you don't have to worry about that, as our test show that our feedreader can handle all of them. Please note that not all RSS feeds are recognizable by an .xml extension on the stream address, but they are almost always indicated by the orange XML or RSS symbols on the hosting websites.

  • New Logos For Your Feed

You can use these logos to point to your feed at FeedReader.net.

Replace the link information behind '?feedsrc=' in the next example with your source: http://www.feedreader.net/rss/rss.cgi?feedsrc=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.feedreader.net%2FRSS%2FFRintroduction.xml
